A band described as pop-punk that are actually less so than a pair of scissors of a wellington boot, Lawson rose to fame after they supported The Wanted on their Behind Bars Tour. Their third single, Standing In The Dark, is out now.
Standing In The Dark is impressive. Its chorus is infectious, the vocals are pleasing and musically it isn’t bad at all, but something about it doesn’t quite add up. On the whole the track seems as though its main purpose is to take advantage of the world’s ever growing need for real bands.
Really just a boy band that happen to be able to play instruments Lawson are nothing new and Standing In The Dark is only likeable because it was designed in a certain way.
