Set in 18th century New Orleans around the end of the French and Indian war and up to the middle of the American Revolution, the game follows the story of Aveline, a woman recruited to the Assassin Brotherhood by the escaped slave, Agate, who acts as her mentor.
As with Assassin’s Creed 3 gameplay will not just take place inside a city. Aveline will be able to trek through the alligator and smuggler infested Bayou, as well as travel across the Gulf into Mexico.
Liberation uses the same game engine as its console cousin, but it also makes us of the Vita’s touchscreen, rear touch pad, cameras and gyroscope, and allows players to link to the original game.
As well as having the familiar hidden blade, pistols, knives and swords, Aveline will also have an updated array of weapons including a blowpipe and the ability to dual weald.
Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation makes us want a PS Vita.
