NEWS: Mick Jagger responds to ticket price controversy

Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones has commented on the controversy surrounding the high ticket prices for the upcoming shows in London and New Jersey that has left fans vexed.

With tickets for the November 25th and 29th shows at the 02 Arena ranging from £90 to a deluxe VIP package at £950, many fans have been left disappointed that they can’t afford a ticket to see the old rock gods themselves.

You’d think the band would be sympathetic about that, and annoyed too that their real fans won’t be able to come along to support them, but apparently not because, according to Jagger, the shows are “expensive to put on”.

Really? No shit. But are they that expensive? We doubt it.

“But most of the tickets go for a higher price than we’ve sold them for, so you can see the market is there. We don’t participate in the profit. If a ticket costs 250 quid. let’s imagine, and goes for 1,000 quid, I just want to point out that we don’t get that difference.”

The Rolling Stones are set to continue in 2013 but, we expect, they’ll probably have a few less fans when that time comes.
